So far in our games we have always chosen the good side, AO we were Clan fighting the oppressive Omni, in SWG Rebels fighting the equally oppressive Empire, In wow I think most of us have chosen alliance.
Conan has no factions but races, I do not yet know the traits of the different races but given that one is "darker" and more sinister then the others do we choose it ?
RacesSo now that a new MMO is on the horizion do we choose different ?

i'm not rdy to decide yet, i could be a bad guy but serving snake gods isn't for me

i wanna know a bit more about "factions" and what proff can be played if you start from which city and so on...i don't want to limit my choses just yet.

I guess Aquilian is Good, Cimmerian is Neutral and Stygian Bad.....
I'd play Aquilian, Cimmerian is nice too, especially since they live in the snowy regions, should make a nice landscape there.

there are no factions, its a purely guild oriented game it seems, wich sounds very good to me.

I prefer the good side, neutral to me means no fighting and im big on combat. And from all the dark or bad side that i have experienced from SWG, it pushes me away from that because they all act really immature and i dont want to be put in that group.

if it's guild oriented only, then i'm all for the bad site, as long as one race can be guilded with other races and there isn't profession limitations depending what race you are.

I don't think it really matters. Yes there were more "evil" people in certain races and some races had... lets call it lax... views on demon worshipping but I don't think there are any actual evil races so much as very evil people who took advantage of the people around them (their race.)
This game seems to be based more off of the Conan comics than the movie. The "evil" races support and worship sorcerors or demon summoners... or even demons, getting their magical powers from them. Not so much just snakes... but more Cthonian beings such as Ithagua, Shub Niggurath, and the rest of the Cthulhu pantheon (Howard and Lovecraft were pen pals and Howard loved to use the monsters and gods that Lovecraft dreamed up for the gods of his world.)
In Howard's stories a man can rise above his station and rise above his own race to become a hero, thats kind of the whole point. It was never as much about where you came from but what you made of yourself. Race and past only carried social implications that one either broke free of, took advantage of, or suffered from.
